SONIC YOUTH SCRAP SHOWS DUE TO BASS PLAYER'S WRIST INJURY
Alternative rock icons SONIC YOUTH have pulled the plug on a concert as part of next month's (Oct09) Austin City Limits festival in Texas to allow bass player LEE RANALDO to recover from an accident which left him with a fractured wrist.
The group was billed to perform on 4 October (09), but the show has been cancelled, along with four other U.S. dates.
A statement explaining the injury reads, "Lee fractured his wrist while playing tennis. Please join us in wishing him a quick and thorough recovery."
There are no plans at present to scrap dates on an upcoming tour of Europe and South America.
