SONIC YOUTH CLOSE POOL VENUE
Indie rock icons SONIC YOUTH have signed up to play the final show at Brooklyn, New York's fabled MCCarren Park Pool.
The venue, which opened in 1936, initially closed in 1984 but has become a seasonal summer concert mecca for the past two years.
Sonic Youth's show on 30 August (08) will be the site's last before construction work begins to return the space to a pool and ice-skating rink.
