SOMERS SELLS PALM SPRINGS REFUGE FROM THE FIRES

Actress SUZANNE SOMERS is selling the desert retreat that offered her refuge after her Malibu, California home was destroyed by wildfires a year ago (Jan07). The star and her husband Alan Hamel were holidaying at their Palm Springs, California retreat when fires burned their beach house to the ground. Fans expected Somers to sell the site of her dream home, but instead she plans to rebuild it and sell off the place she and Hamel bought just after they wed in 1977. The couple is also looking for a new home in Palm Springs. The sprawling mountainside home Somers is selling comes with an extensive wine cellar and 10 bedrooms. She's asking $35 million (GBP17.5 million) for the home.
