SOLO BRADFIELD BLASTS MANIC SPLIT REPORTS
MANIC STREET PREACHERS frontman JAMES DEAN BRADFIELD has rubbished speculation his solo career is a signal the Welsh band will soon split. Bradfield, whose debut release THAT'S NO WAY TO TELL A LIE is a new entry in the UK singles chart today (16JUL06), admits he only recorded a solo album to fill the gap until the next Manic Street Preachers disc. He says, "It was never my ambition to make a solo record. But last summer (05) we took the decision to have a two-year break. "We want the next Manics record to be a great album. We needed to give ourselves - and our audience - a little bit of a rest."
