SOAP ACTRESS QUITS OVER EMMY VOTING

American actress VICTORIA ROWELL is so furious about the Emmy award voting process that she has quit popular US soap THE YOUNG AND THE RESTLESS. The former model - who played Drucilla Winters on the show and is notably absent from this year's American TV award list - has blasted the nomination process, which she brands "unfair" because it requires fellow actors, rather than independent judges, to nominate their favourite candidates. Rowell attributes nomination to "who's buying coffee for the cast, who's doing the political campaign throughout the year rather than who's doing the work on the stage". She adds, "Actors on both coasts have tried to appeal this backward system of voting, but without success."
