SMOKEY LANDS ASCAP HONOUR

Soul man SMOKEY ROBINSON is to be honoured with the prestigious Rhythm & Soul Heritage Prize at the upcoming American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
The Motown legend will be feted at the Beverly Hilton Hotel event on 26 June (09).
The prizegiving will also honour the songwriters and publishers of the most performed ASCAP songs from the 2008 R&B, hip-hop and rap charts.
Past honorees of the Rhythm & Soul Heritage accolade include Earth, Wind & Fire and Bill Withers.
