Legendary American rocker PATTI SMITH has credited the renewed strength of her vocal chords to her healthy living and deep breathing. The BABEL singer, who quit rock 'n' roll in the late 1970s to raise her family, amazed fans at the Latitude festival in Suffolk, England last year (06) with her powerful singing. Smith, 60, says, "I used to sing through my nose; I was always a sickly, bronchial child. "But I've never had issues with drink or drugs, and I don't smoke. "So now I've got healthy."
