SMITH SET TO SHOW ARTWORK AT PARIS GALLERY

Rocker PATTI SMITH is set to swap music for art - by displaying a selection of her drawings and photography in a prestigious French gallery. The punk icon, 60, will exhibit her collection, Land 250, at Paris' Fondation Cartier, with 250 of Smith's Polaroid photos - including a shot of Jimi Hendrix's guitar - and a selection of drawings and objects on display. Smith has also recorded audio explanations of her artwork, which will feature alongside the pieces. Herve Chandes, of Fondation Cartier, says, "Everything Patti does is very emotional, but this is particularly personal to her. It is an immensely romantic, lyrical show which I think will reveal a side to her that not many people have seen before." The exhibition runs from March (08) until 22 June (08).
