SMITH DEFENDS GREY'S PRODUCERS

Actress BROOKE SMITH has defended her former TV bosses at GREY'S ANATOMY - insisting she has "no hard feelings" after her lesbian character was written out of the show.
Network bosses announced Smith would be axed from the show last month (Nov08), sparking rumours she was written out of the series in a bid to end her character Dr Erica Hahn's burgeoning homosexual affair.
Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes refuted the reports, telling Us Weekly, "Brooke Smith was obviously not fired for playing a lesbian. Clearly it's not an issue as we have a lesbian character on the show - Calliope Torres (Sara Ramirez). Unfortunately, we did not find that the magic and chemistry with Brooke's character would sustain in the long run."
Actor Isaiah Washington, who was let go from the show last year (07), lashed out at his former bosses, calling their decision to cut Smith "disgusting".
But Smith has defended Rhimes, adding, "It's an end of a chapter. It was a good experience. I'd played gay characters before, and I don't think that's going to end.
"There's no hard feelings. I have other projects now, so it is what it is."

And exactly how are Brooke's words a defense of the producers? She's saying that she's moved past the firing, not that she deserved being fired. Try again.
