SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE STAR CAST IN WOODY ALLEN FILM

Having enjoyed the Oscar-winning success of Slumdog Millionaire, Freida Pinto can now celebrate being cast in Woody Allen's latest film.

The Indian model-turned-actress, who plays romantic lead Latika in Danny Boyle's best picture winner, is the latest addition to the cast for the Manhattan director's as-yet-untitled upcoming project.

Naomi Watts has also recently signed on for Allen's film, which will also star Oscar nominee Josh Brolin and Sir Anthony Hopkins.

Though no plots details have yet been announced for Allen's project - which will be produced by Vicky Cristina Barcelona studio Mediapro - it is believed to concern love and intrigue.

Having signed with talent agency CAA in November, the Woody Allen film will be the first post-Slumdog Millionaire picture for 24-year-old Pinto.
