SLOW TICKET SALES HAMPER MICHAEL'S FINAL GIG

GEORGE MICHAEL's final concert in the United Arab Emirates was hit by slow ticket sales, with organisers reportedly giving away many of the seats for free.
The pop star is said to have signed a $1.5 million (GBP1 million) deal to perform one last gig at a lavish Abu Dhabi hotel on Monday (01Dec08) night - despite recently staging a series of "retirement" shows.
But organisers of the concert at the Emirate Palace Hotel are said to have been left disappointed after swathes of seats failed to sell, leaving them to give away the remaining tickets to ensure the star played to a packed audience.
A source tells British newspaper The Sun, "A lot of the youngsters here aren't interested in his music - they're into up-to-date stuff. It was embarrassing."
