SLIP-N-SLIDE STAR ARRESTED OVER SHOOTING

SLIP-N-SLIDE rapper PLIES was arrested in connection with a nightclub shooting in Florida which left five people injured yesterday morning (02JUL06). The hip-hop star was detained, along with three other men, after a dispute broke out among promoters over stage time at 238 West Nightclub in Gainesville. Plies was scheduled to headline the night alongside Louisiana rapper LIL' BOOSIE. Eyewitness tell AllHipHop.com two members of Plies' entourage - RONELL LAWRENCE LAVATTE and TORY DENARD CARNEGIE - opened fire on the 1,000-strong audience. None of the gunshot victims suffered life threatening injuries. Lavatte and Carnegie have since been charged with multiple counts of attempted murder, while Plies - real name ALGERNOD LANIER WASHINGTON - was arrested for illegal possession of concealed weapons, alongside a fourth man, KEON D MCRAE. Plies has previously collaborated with R+B star AKON on the track I WANNA.
