SLATER INSPIRED TO DIRECT BY HOPKINS + ESTEVEZ
CHRISTIAN SLATER was so inspired by pals SIR ANTHONY HOPKINS and EMILIO ESTEVEZ's recent directorial efforts, he's planning to make his debut as a movie-maker with a film he's scripted.
The actor teamed up with Estevez and Hopkins for BOBBY and then starred in Hopkins' directorial debut SLIPSTREAM - and the two projects have given him a taste for movie-making.
He says, ""I'm inspired by Emilio and Anthony being actor/directors, so I've written something that I'm working on directing in the future.
"It's called LOVE STORIES ARE TOO VIOLENT FOR ME, and it's an homage to a lot of films and a lot of actors that I love."
Promoting Slipstream at the Sundance Film Festival, Slater admits he hopes to persuade Hopkins to star in his first film.
