CHRISTIAN SLATER struggles to watch the movies he starred in as a young man - because they remind him of the extreme drug addiction he suffered from in his youth. The True Romance actor's battle to kick his substance abuse habits has been well-publicised as his drunken antics led to him being jailed in 1997 after being accused of assaulting his then girlfriend, Michelle Jonas, and several police officers. And although the former hellraiser has been clean for a number of years and insists although he is now "older and wiser", he is still haunted by his tortured performances. He tells British magazine Closer, "It's weird to watch movies I made when I was younger. "I don't handle it well, it's like I need to take a shower after watching one. I think about where I was at the time and all that s**t comes up in my head."
