SKINNER: 'SONDHEIM IS MY INSPIRATION'
THE STREETS rapper MIKE SKINNER has found an unlikely source of inspiration for his latest work - Oscar-winning composer and lyricist STEPHEN SONDHEIM. The star was overwhelmed after watching Tim Burton's adaptation of Sondheim's Sweeney Todd musical, and is keen to emulate the revered wordsmith. He says, "I sat dumbfounded by the rhyme and meter of the songs. It was an absolute inspiration to experience Stephen Sondheim at work. Every single line of the songs roll off Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham's tongues in the way I struggle to do night after day after morning."
