SINGER-SONGWRITER HAZARD LOSES CANCER BATTLE

Singer-songwriter ROBERT HAZARD has lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 59.
Hazard, best known for penning Cyndi Lauper's Girls Just Wanna Have Fun hit, passed away at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Tuesday (05Jul08).
He had just undergone surgery after he was diagnosed with the same cancer as actor Patrick Swayze.
As well as his songwriting credits, Hazard also led Philadelphia, Pennsylvania-based band Robert Hazard and The Heroes in the 1980s.
He released his most recent solo album, Troubadour, in October 2007.
Hazard is survived by his wife Susan, teenage sons Rex and Remy, and a daughter, Corrina, from his first marriage.
