LATEST: JESSICA SIMPSON'S father is thrilled with her new relationship with Grammy winner JOHN MAYER and insists her new beau is "an unbelievable talent". The pop singer is currently in New York City promoting her new album A PUBLIC AFFAIR and has been sidelined by laryngitis and a broken blood vessel on her vocal cord. JOE SIMPSON, who known to have been against Jessica's marriage to ex-husband NICK LACHEY, has given his enthusiastic approval to her new relationship saying, "I love John. I love John's music. I love him as a person. I think he has a kind heart and he's an unbelievable talent." Simpson insists he has received a bad rap when it comes to his role in his daughter's life adding, "You know, although everyone says I'm the bad guy, I stay out of her romance. "I don't have anything to do with her romance nor ASHLEE's! You know, all I wish for her is to be happy. "It's been a sad year, she's been through some tough, tough times, and as a father, I wish joy for her, whatever brings her joy and happiness, that's what I wish for her."

I love John Mayer but not Jessica Simspon. Instead, I like Ashlee better. I
could say I hope this relationship works out, but if I did, I'd be lying.

That is such BULLs**t. If Joe Simpson is happy about his babay dating John
Mayer than I'm the queen of the world. The only reason the Perv is backing off
alittle is because Jess dropped his ass as her manager(still on daddy's label,
just has someone else managing her caree) What a joke. Did you hear Daddy is
trying to run for Mayor, where? Whooville? He ruined Jessica's marriage to
Nick, listening to her father she has ruined her career. I agree with others by
this being a publicity stunt to try and save her sad album. People feel sorry
for Jessica. They know her album sucks and there just trying to be supportive.
You all need to rally around Nick, he needs some love after the horrible way
they treated him. He loved that girl, still does, and now it's his turn to
shine. Forget about Jessica and her dad, let's focus on Ashlee and her mom, God
