SIMON WEBBE 'RELIEVED' TO LEAVE AUSTRALIAN JUNGLE

Former Blue singer Simon Webbe has become the eighth person to be evicted from I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! after a public vote.

The 30-year-old polled the least number of votes and was told of his exit after completing a high-wire challenge with Joe Swash.

Speaking to Ant and Dec after his exit, Simon admitted his "relief" at leaving the ITV1 show.

"Ever since I was in there I didn't think I'd last this long. I really enjoyed it...but it wasn't what I expected," he added.

"I didn't think I'd snap as much as I did. I'm normally a cool character, I know how to keep my temper in check, but I felt my buttons were being pushed."

Simon lost out in a head-to-head vote with Star Trek actor George Takei, who remains in the jungle along with Joe, Martina Navratilova and David Van Day.

Asked his opinion on the latter, Simon admitted he knew the 80s pop star would cause trouble in the camp.

"I saw it in his eyes. I didn't see him as honest," he said.

He stressed that David was "a nice guy underneath it all" but was "here to play the game".

"I've always said this is reality TV and I thought it was about being real to yourself," he added.
