SIMON SUES CLOCK MAKER

Singer/songwriter PAUL SIMON has launched a multi-million dollar (pound) lawsuit against a clock manufacturer for allegedly using an extract of his hit song BRIDGE OVER TROUBLED WATER.
Simon has filed papers at the U.S. Federal Court in Manhattan, New York claiming Georgia-based-firm Rhythm USA used the famous tune in a range of wall clocks without his permission.
The lawsuit states that the company "knew or should have known that they were violating (Simon's) rights and have realised millions of dollars from their infringing actions."
Simon is seeking $10 million (GBP5 million) in damages.
