SIMON SETTLES LAWSUIT WITH CLOCK COMPANY

Singer/songwriter PAUL SIMON has settled his $10 million (GBP6.8million) lawsuit with a clock company over their alleged unauthorised use of one of his songs.
Simon sued clockmaker Rhythm USA earlier this year (08), claiming bosses utilised his song Bridge Over Troubled Water for a tune-playing timepiece without his permission.
He sought more than $10 million (GBP6.8million) in the Manhattan Federal suit, after discovering the company's Grand Nostalgia Clock played an excerpt of his 1970 soft-rock classic.
The star claimed a licence fee for his famous Simon and Garfunkel melody would have cost more than $1 million (GBP678,334).
Terms of the agreement have not been disclosed.
