SIMMONS REACHES OUT TO O'REILLY

Rap mogul RUSSELL SIMMONS has invited controversial political pundit BILL O'REILLY to contribute to an online blog aimed at the hip-hop community. The Def Jam founder recently launched industry networking website GlobalGrind.com, and he wants O'Reilly, an outspoken opponent of rappers like Ludacris, 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg, to voice his opinions online.
In his own blog post, Simmons writes, "For far too long Bill has used The O' Reilly Factor on Fox News to spew inaccurate statements and ideological taunts about hip-hop.
"Rather than speaking indirectly to us using the code of right wing rhetoric, I'm giving Bill O' Reilly a straight-up opportunity to come out of the Spin Zone and speak to millions of hip-hop supporters and leaders about whatever he may feel is important."
Simmons has also extended the offer of the blog to U.S. radio personality Rush Limbaugh and culture critic Stanley Crouch.
