SIMM SNUBS LIFE ON MARS ROLE

British actors JOHN SIMM and PHILIP GLENISTER have turned down the chance to star in a U.S version of their hit TV show LIFE ON MARS. Ally MCBeal creator David E. Kelley is working on an American remake of the Emmy award-winning show which follows the experiences of a police officer who is transported back in time. But Simms and co-star Glenister have refused to star in the remake, insisting it should remain a British show. Simms says, "They wanted us to have U.S accents. But I don't know why they have to remake everything. "Anyway they have already got their own version of our show: Starsky and Hutch."
