SHYNE DENIES JAIL TIME CHATS WITH COMBS

Incarcerated rapper SHYNE has denied he was in contact with SEAN COMBS while he was behind bars - insisting he would only converse with the hip-hop mogul if he "did the right thing" for the victims of his shooting case.
Shyne, real name Jamal Barrow, is currently being held in a Federal immigration detention centre following his release from Woodbourne Correctional Facility in New York on Tuesday (06Oct09), where he served more than eight years following a 1999 shooting.
He was convicted of first degree assault and reckless endangerment in 2001 in relation to the incident, which left a woman with serious facial injuries.
Sean 'Diddy' Combs and his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were caught up in the aftermath at the club where the incident took place, and Combs recently boasted he had spoken to Barrow and couldn't wait for his release.
But the embattled rapper has denied any such conversation took place, and insists he will never reconcile with Combs, unless the star speaks out in defence of the "victims" of the incident.
In a statement delivered through his attorney, Barrow says, "I want it known that this supposed conversation is a figment of Sean Combs' imagination.
"He never spoke with me, he never visited me nor would I ever accept a phone call or visit from him. The only way I would do either of those things would be if he stepped up and did the right thing for the victims of the incident."
The lawyer adds, "I was very surprised to hear Mr. Combs' claims about talking with my client since I speak to Shyne all the time and he never mentioned anything about it.
"Knowing how he feels about Mr. Combs, I know that it would have been very strange for Shyne to have spoken with him and not told anyone."
Combs was charged with felony gun possession after cops chased him and Lopez after the club shooting in New York and found a firearm in his vehicle.
