SHUE SHUNS MELROSE PLACE REMAKE

MELROSE PLACE actor ANDREW SHUE has blasted his former TV bosses for remaking the hit 1990s soap opera - insisting it should be left untouched so it is remembered as a "great" show.
The star played heartthrob Billy Campbell in the original series and is convinced bosses at the CW network have made a big mistake by reviving the programme, now starring Ashlee Simpson-Wentz.
And Shue is so disappointed with the idea, he's already warning TV bosses not to approach him to make a cameo - even though his former co-stars Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro have signed up to return to the series.
He tells the New York Daily News, "I thought for a while, 'Yeah, it's great.' But now I think any great show that had its run and had its place in pop culture should only have one run. Melrose Place was a great show in its time, and if I were calling the shots, I would say don't bring it back. Leave it as it was at its time. That's the way it should be.
"They wouldn't have my character back on the show. My character was born out of the '90s. It's a different era now."
