SHRINER: 'NEW WEEZER ALBUM MOST CHALLENGING YET'
WEEZER bassist SCOTT SHRINER is delighted the band's sixth studio album is ready for release - because it was a struggle to complete. The band have kept a low profile since the release of their 1995 album Make Believe, and Shriner admits making the new record - their first new material in two years - proved to be extremely challenging. In a recent post on the Weezer website, he writes, "I have never been so excited in my life. Weezer fans truly have something to look forward to. The entire band has accomplished some of its most challenged goals as a group and as individuals." Speculation has been mounting that the currently unnamed album will hit the shelves in April 2008, but an official release date has yet to be confirmed.
