SHIELDS LANDS BROADWAY ROLE
BROOKE SHIELDS is heading to Broadway - she's to star in a one-off production opposite NATHAN LANE and JANE KRAKOWSKI.
The actress' new role comes just days after she confirmed her U.S. TV show Lipstick Jungle had been axed by network NBC.
Shields will be heading back to work with a part in a one-night-only revival of 1930s-inspired musical Pal Joey. The performance will take place on Monday (06Apr09) at the Roundabout Theatre’s annual spring gala, called Take Me Back to Manhattan.
However, Shields is remaining coy about her role in the show - about a song and dance man who dreams about owning a nightclub.
She tells the New York Daily News, “I don’t want to ruin the surprise, but I can tell you I’m the only one in the show who gets to flirt. And, trust me, I flirt a lot!”
Pal Joey ended its four-month run on Broadway on 1 March (09).
