SHERYL CROW ADOPTS BABY BOY
Singer Sheryl Crow has become the latest US star to adopt a baby.
In a short message posted on her website today the 45-year-old revealed she had named her new two-week old son Wyatt Steven.
She explained that the infant's name was inspired by her father, brother and longtime manager Steven Weintraub, affectionately referred to by the singer as Scooter.
"I am so excited to share with you guys that I've adopted a little boy. He was born two weeks ago," Crow told her fans.
"His name is Wyatt (after my dad) Steven (after my little brother and Scooter) and we are enjoying some very private family time," she added.
Crow, who previously dated consecutive Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong, is the latest celebrity mum to adopt a baby, joining the likes of Angelina Jolie and Madonna.
But unlike other Hollywood stars, Crow's baby was born in the US, her publicist confirmed.
Meanwhile Crow, who underwent breast cancer surgery last year, has already been striving to try and make the world a better place in which to bring up a child.
Last month the singer completed a two-week tour of US colleges to highlight the need to stop global warming after teaming up with Laurie David, producer of Al Gore's Oscar-winning environmental documentary An Inconvenient Truth.
