SHEPARD ARRESTED FOR SPEEDING AND DUI

Actor and playwright SAM SHEPARD has been arrested by U.S. authorities after he was caught speeding and allegedly drink driving, according to reports.
The Notebook star was pulled over early on Saturday (03Jan08) morning in Normal, Illinois for driving at 46 miles per hour (74 kilometres per hour) in a 30 miles per hour (48.3 kilometres per hour) zone.
And a subsequent breath test allegedly indicated his blood-alcohol level was almost double the legal limit.
Police say the star had been drinking at a local bar and was on his way to a hotel when he was pulled over by cops.
The 65-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to MCLean County jail. He posted $300 (GBP207) bail and is due to appear in court at a later date, according to TMZ.com.
