SHEEN'S WIFE PREDICTED PACINO PHENOMENON
Hollywood veteran MARTIN SHEEN was amazed when his wife predicted AL PACINO's success back when he was a small time theatre actor known as 'Little Al' in the early 1960s.
JANET TEMPLETON, who married Sheen in 1961 and is mother to his sons, actors EMILIO ESTEVEZ and CHARLIE SHEEN, insisted Pacino would be a legend after watching him perform in a tiny off-Broadway play.
Sheen tells Empire magazine, "I remember Janet saw him acting in some little play off Broadway somewhere and said, 'That guy is going to be a major star.'
"And we looked at her and said, 'Really? That's little Al!' She said 'Oh you watch.' And he was.
"He was the first one to break through and no one ever - in the group that I came up with - equalled his success.
"He was that big a talent. We all knew it but we couldn't equate talent to success."
