SHEEN TURNS CHITTY CHITTY VILLAIN INTO VAMPIRE KING
MICHAEL SHEEN partly based his TWILIGHT sequel vampire king character on the dastardly child catcher from CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG.
The Brit, who has mastered the voices of Tony Blair, David Frost and soccer icon Brian Clough for movies, admits he read Stephenie Meyer's books for clues about how his character, Arrow, should sound in The Twilight Saga: New Moon.
He tells WENN, "Stephanie wrote something in the book that his voice sounded like feathers, and that was the thing that stuck with me - the idea of someone who sounds very soft and charming and nice and kind, but underneath he’s a psychotic killer.
"It reminded me of the child capturer a little bit in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang or the Blue Meanie in (Beatles film) Yellow Submarine, who has a very soft voice but (he's) completely insane, so there’s a little bit of that in Arrow as well."
