SHEEN LANDS THEATRE DIRECTOR ROLE

MICHAEL SHEEN is following in the footsteps of KEVIN SPACEY - he has taken on director duties at a top U.K. theatre company.
The Frost/Nixon star is heading home to his native Wales to act as creative director for the country's National Theatre to oversee a new contemporary take on the Passion Plays, which hits the stage next year (10).
Sheen personally approached the company's artistic director to work on the play in Port Talbot, Wales - and he is thrilled with his new role.
He says, "It is an honour to be a part of National Theatre Wales. I am both excited and terrified about this project, which I suppose is the perfect state of mind to approach it in. I am very grateful for the opportunity to work in and with my hometown and to see what we can achieve together."
American Beauty star Spacey serves as artistic director for London's Old Vic theatre.
