SHEARS SEEKS APPROVAL FROM WAINWRIGHT
SCISSOR SISTERS frontman JAKE SHEARS runs every new song he writes past his pal RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, because the rocker isn't afraid of speaking the truth - even if it hurts. The flamboyant TAKE YOUR MAMA star trusts Wainwright's judgment implicitly, and insists they provide each other with much-needed musical support. He explains, "He's an incredibly talented, amazing, inspiring individual. It was important for me to play our new record to Rufus and get his feedback. "It was the same for Rufus with his record WANT ONE - he played it for me. It's feedback from people doing similar things. We can be honest with each other. If Rufus thought something was s**t, or thought I was out of my mind, he'd tell me."
