SHEARS RECRUITED MATRONIX DURING DRUGS BINGE

SCISSOR SISTERS frontman JAKE SHEARS was inspired to recruit bandmate ANA MATRONIX thanks to mind-altering substances. The singer admits he asked Matronix - the only female member of the New York group - to join forces with the band under the influence of illegal drug ecstasy. He says, "Ana doesn't remember but I do. (Bandmate) Scott (Baby Daddy) and I were giving a performance at a friend's birthday party. "We had seen Ana perform previously and thought she was amazing. That night I was off my tits on ecstasy and I just said to Baby Daddy, 'Lets ask Ana to join our band'. She was probably off her face too."
