SHEARS: 'PARENTS IGNORED ME DURING MY COMING OUT SPEECH'

SCISSOR SISTERS frontman JAKE SHEARS will never forget the moment he told his parents he was gay - they were too busy watching the news on television to care. The Laura hitmaker, 29, plucked up the courage to tell his parents about his sexuality when he was a teenager - but he never got the desired response. He recalls, "I was 16 on vacation in Las Vegas. My Mom told me to be quiet as my father was trying to watch the news."
