SHEARS DEFENDS DRUGS

SCISSOR SISTERS frontman JAKE SHEARS has controversially advocated drug-taking, insisting illegal substances can be "good for you". The flamboyant pop star, who suffered a nine-year addiction to cannabis, is still adamant using drugs carefully is OK. He says, "There are things like cocaine and heroin I wouldn't touch with a 10ft pole. Then you have drugs like cannabis and mushrooms that are natural. "They're good for you in a way, if you take them in moderation. "It's really a shame mushrooms are illegal (most places) now. There was that loophole for a while."
