SHATNER SEEKS SCI-FI SPOKESPERSON
STAR TREK star WILLIAM SHATNER is searching for a spokesperson for his new science fiction DVD club. The star, who played CAPTAIN JAMES T KIRK in the classic TV series, has launched an online contest and wants the voting public to select 10 finalists. Celebrity judges, including CHASE MASTERSON from the cast of STAR TREK: DEEP SPACE NINE, will select seven additional finalists. Shatner will pick the winner, who will then be named the spokesperson for the William Shatner Science Fiction DVD Club and claim a "large cash prize". Shatner says, "This is an opportunity for new faces and new voices in the science fiction world to be seen and heard. "Plus this is a chance for passionate fans to be the first to discover the next M NIGHT SHYAMALAN or BRANDON ROUTH, and help propel them into stardom." Aspiring actors, young film-makers and budding film critics are encouraged to submit a short video clip to his website shatner.blip.tv by 30 September (06).
