SHARON DEFENDS "OPEN" OSBOURNES

Sharon Osbourne has been on the defensive about her family's decision to appear together on television.

Following the success of The Osbournes, which focused on their hilariously dysfunctional home life, the family are returning in Osbournes: Reloaded.

The variety show will place less emphasis on the difficulties they have experienced in everyday life but, despite this, Sharon has been defending her brood.

"We are a real family, we don't pretend to be something we're not," she said.

"We have been so open about our lives. My husband has struggled with addiction his entire life."

Drug and drink problems have haunted Jack Osbourne and Sharon's rocker husband Ozzy in the past.

And Kelly has just come out of rehab for a second time because of an addiction problem to painkillers.

"My son has been clean and sober for six years ... probably half of the people that are watching our show have someone in their family who has a problem with alcohol and drugs," Sharon added.

"All my family are examples of being truthful about their condition and working through it and trying to better themselves as human beings."
