SHAIMAN CLAIMS MANCINI PRIZE
Composer MARC SHAIMAN claimed the Henry Mancini Award in recognition of his outstanding achievements and contributions to the music of film and television at the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) Film and Television Music Awards last night (17Apr07).
Rob Reiner and Billy Crystal presented the award to Shaiman, while other famous pals like Robin Williams, John Travolta and Queen Latifah recorded video tributes.
Shaiman is the five-time Oscar nominated composer for films like Sleepless in Seattle, Sister Act, The Addams Family and City Slickers.
Past recipients of the ASCAP Henry Mancini Award include Quincy Jones, Randy Newman and James Newton Howard.
