SEX AND THE CITY SEQUEL OUT IN MAY 2010

The sequel to the Sex and the City film will hit cinemas on May 28th 2010, it has been announced.

Carrie Bradshaw and friends will return to the screen after the huge success of the first film based on the television series, which made $415 million (£281 million) worldwide.

Box office tracking firm Exhibitor Relations confirmed the sequel's release date following an announcement by Warner Bros and New Line.

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon will return for the follow-up film, with rumours earlier this week that action could be moved from New York to London.

Michael Patrick King will also return as writer-director, after the first Sex and the City film became the fastest-selling DVD of 2008 in the UK.
