SEWELL'S BAD GUY REGRET

Actor RUFUS SEWELL has blasted "unimaginative" Hollywood for continually casting him as a movie bad guy. The KNIGHTS TALE hunk has become frustrated with what he sees as film bosses failing to take more of a chance on him. He says, "I think I'm a very versatile actor and I find it very frustrating that people don't see that. "You tend to use interviews to say what you want in case anyone pays attention. Of course the sad truth is that no one does. I just don't think people are very imaginative. The business is run basically run by accountants and secretaries. "I really don't want to play another baddie. I really don't"

As a Euro/American Rose (British at the core), and unfortunately I am in love with a country (England) that does not want me...However, I will say that Hollywood is clearly for superficial individuals seeking praise. It is a place where extraordinarily talented/chameleon actors are placed in cheap, mindless roles. Also our many talented women are actually turned into glamourama ding dongs...sadly L.A. believes this is the thing sells! What a bore! Personally, films coming from this part of the world are clearly based on material severely lacking in imagination and substance. Sad, and very true, Hollywood is nothing more than a machine which pumps out remade action figure films and television sitcoms (Bewitched of all things...really!!) which have become the cuisine du jour. Therefore, Mr. Sewell, truly ought not to concern himself with such shallow nonsence. He and others are in a league of their own, and therefore cannot be compared to the mediocrity of "Hollywood" shallow standards. In addition, please note that more than half of Hollywood truly does not know what they want nor what it is they are actually looking for...let alone what it is actually doing. British/European Theatre and films is where true talent is found. Lastly, and then I shall step down from my "soap-box" Mr. Sewell is one of the finest most versatile actors in the world and one of my favourite leading men...far greater things shall come to him. Best, Petal

I agree with Sewell. I want to see him in more modern film roles. I can see it in him, to be versitile.
