SERB FESTIVAL BOSS DENIES DROPPING BJORK OVER 'KOSOVO REMARK'
LATEST: The organiser of Serbian music festival Exit has dismissed reports BJORK has been dropped from the event's line-up after she allegedly made pro-Kosovan remarks at a concert in Japan as "bizarre". The Icelandic singer was due to perform at Exit in Novi Sad in July (08), but has now withdrawn for unknown reasons. However, organiser Bojan Boscovic is denying speculation he cancelled Bjork's appearance shortly after it was reported she dedicated a track called Declare Independence to the Balkan state of Kosovo at a Tokyo show. Boscovic says, "These stories are quite bizarre and untrue. Exit festival has never cancelled any artist's performance because of their political point-of-view or statements." Kosovo recently broke away from Serbian rule after years of turmoil in the region, but Serbia has refused to acknowledge the state's declaration of independence.
