SENSATIONAL STORIES RECEIVE DIFFERENT TREATMENT

The case of the missing Natalee Holloway may have long ago disappeared from the tabloids and cable talk shows, but it was still fresh enough people's minds to produce record ratings Sunday night for the Lifetime Movie Network, which dramatized it in a made-for-TV movie based on Beth Holloway's book Loving Natalee A Mother's Testament of Hope and Faith . The movie generated the network's highest ratings in its 11-year history as it averaged 3.2 million viewers. It also produced the highest ratings on all of basic cable among women 18-49 over the last 12 months. Meanwhile, Oprah Winfrey announced Monday that she had decided not to air a taped episode marking the 10th anniversary of the Columbine shootings. "After reviewing it, I thought it focused too much on the killers," she said on her website. "Today, hold a thought for the Columbine community."
