SEARCH FOR DOOHAN ROCKET

The rocket that launched STAR TREK star JAMES DOOHAN's ashes into space has disappeared without a trace. A search team has been hunting for the remains of the rocket since it was blasted into space from a launch site in New Mexico two weeks ago (29May07) - and carried back to earth by parachute. A spokesperson for the company who arranged for the ashes of Doohan and astronaut Gordon Cooper to be sent into space, says, "The terrain is very mountainous; it's not somewhere that you can walk or drive to. My understanding is that it will take some time to get up into there. "They know the general location, and we have the utmost confidence that they will recover it." Doohan died in 2005 at the age of 85.
