SCRIPT DEBUT TOPS CHARTS
Irish band The Script's debut album has entered the charts at number one, but Katy Perry prevented them taking the top spot in the singles stakes.
Her track I Kissed A Girl stayed at number one for a third week while The Script's The Man Who Can't Be Moved climbed one place to number three.
Kid Rock's All Summer Long was a non-mover at number two in the singles charts. The Verve's comeback single Love Is Noise also climbed one place to four.
Dizzee Rascal's Dance Wiv Me paid the price for advances in the top five, slipping to number five.
The highest new entry in this week's singles chart was Beggin' by Macodin while Bloc Party, who played at the Reading festival, entered at 16 with Mercury.
In the album charts it was Abba who were knocked off the top, their greatest hits compilation Gold falling to two. Rockferry by Duffy at three and Coldplay's Viva La Vida at four both also fell down one place.
Noah and the Whale were new at five with their album Peaceful The World Lays Me Down.
