SCREENWRITER AVARY SENTENCED TO JAIL
PULP FICTION screenwriter ROGER AVARY has been sentenced to a year behind bars after causing the death of a man in a car crash last year (08).
The Oscar winner pleaded guilty in August (09) to vehicular manslaughter and drink-driving, and was sentenced in a Ventura, California court on Tuesday (29Sep09).
Avery, who also co-wrote the screenplay for 2007's Beowulf, was also handed a five-year probation term.
Avery's pal Andreas Zini as killed when the 44-year-old writer hit a telephone pole. Avary has previously apologised for the accident.
