R+B star JILL SCOTT is expecting her first child with fiance JON ROBERTS.
The couple announced their engagement onstage during a concert in New York in June (08).
And now Scott, who divorced her husband of five years, DJ Lyzel Williams, last year (07), has revealed she will be a first time mother at the age of 36.
The singer, who is due to give birth in April (09), found out she was expecting shortly before flying to Africa to film new TV series, The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency.
She tells People.com, "The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days.
"My doctors gave me a clean bill of health and said you can do this (continue working), so I did it."
