SCOOCH BEAT HAWKINS AND HARVEY TO REPRESENT UK
British pop group SCOOCH have beaten former DARKNESS frontman JUSTIN HAWKINS and ex-EAST 17 singer BRIAN HARVEY to represent the UK at this year's (07) Eurovision Song Contest.
The foursome, who briefly appeared in the UK pop charts in 2000, will sing FLYING THE FLAG (FOR YOU) at the televised contest in Helsinki, Finland on 12 May (07).
Scooch, Hawkins, Harvey, former ATOMIC KITTEN singer LIZ MCCLARNON, London hip-hop collective BIG BROVAZ and solo star CYNDI competed to represent the UK on TV show MAKING YOU MIND UP last night (17MAR07).
There was confusion over the winner on Saturday when host TERRY WOGAN announced Cyndi would be representing the UK, at the same time as his co-host FEARNE COTTON correctly revealed it was Scooch.
