SCHIFFER: 'MODELS ARE TOO THIN'

CLAUDIA SCHIFFER has hit out at the current generation of supermodels, branding the beauties "bony". The German stunner acknowledges models need to be thin, but believes today's supermodels are unhealthy rather than beautiful. She says, "It doesn't really look good any more. Fashion looks good on thin models, but when you look at today's models you can not help but think there is something wrong. "They are way too thin. It is only bones that stick out." Last month (SEP06), Madrid Fashion Week officials sparked an international media frenzy when they announced that models participating in Fashion Week had to meet a certain weight standard to help prevent models from becoming dangerously thin.
