SCALES ATTENDS RELAUNCH OF FAWLTY TOWERS INSPIRATION
British actress PRUNELLA SCALES yesterday (18SEP06) attended the relaunch of the hotel that inspired legendary 1970s TV show FAWLTY TOWERS. Scales, who starred alongside JOHN CLEESE in the classic sitcom, arrived at Hotel Gleneagles in Torquay, England in a red Austin 1100 - the car Cleese's character BASIL FAWLTY famously hit with a branch. The hotel has had a GBP1 million ($1.8 million) facelift. Scales said, "I will always be very grateful to this hotel. It gave me the chance to act in a classic comedy and also ensured I always get great service in hotels now."
