SANDRA BULLOCK'S DANCING MOM

Sandra Bullock has praised her late mother's hosting skills, culinary prowess and belly dancing ability.

Sandra Bullock's mother used to belly dance at dinner parties.

The 45-year-old actress has praised her later mom Helga's hosting skills, claiming people always came to her gatherings because they knew they'd be entertained.

Sandra explained: "People came to my parents' parties because they were going to have fun and, if lucky, our mother would belly dance.

"What they didn't know was that the hostess made sure every morsel placed in front of them was pure and without anything artificial no matter what the cost."

Sandra inherited her mother's love of healthy food, and has now opened a bakery, deli and florist shop in Austin, Texas, with her sister Gesine.

The store will specialise in recipe's Helga cooked when Sandra and Gesine were growing up, such as braised ribs, cake and potatoes.

Referring to Bess Bistro, another restaurant Sandra owns in Texas, Sandra added: "Everything we seem to do at Walton's and Bess Bistro stems from family recipes."
